NYC Subways In The 1980s Were No Joke

The New York City subway in the 80s was a completely different experience than what we have today. Apparently riders often engaged in some sort of archaic wall-writing art form called graffiti that would cover entire cars. And get this: people didn’t read e-books on their Kindles or tablets, they actually used paper newspapers! And the crime was almost as bad as depicted in The Warriors and Deathwish (1 AND 3). These days all you really have to worry about is sitting in the occasional pee puddle in the last car late at night.
