Hilltop Hoods | ‘Rattling The Keys To The Kingdom’ featuring REALS and TUES.

REALS and TUES flew south to Adelaide not so long ago to knock out a mammoth tribute wall on the set of the Hilltop Hoods’ latest film clip ‘Rattling The Keys To The Kingdom’.

Here’s the word from the Hoods:

‘Rattling the Keys to the Kingdom’ is the fourth single taken from our album ‘Drinking from the Sun’. For the release of this single we wanted to do something a little different. We wanted to do something that was unique and at the same time unifying. So we decided to invite members of the Hip Hop community from all over Australia to join us in the making of the filmclip.
Not only did we want to do something unifying, we also wanted to use the platform we have to promote artists that we think deserve more exposure. Of course, not everyone involved in the filmclip needs exposure, as many of the artists involved have huge followings in their own right. But having these artists involved in the filmclip just further serves to unify and consolidate the scene.
As kids we used to pore over the shout-outs section of our favourite artists album artwork, checking for that co-sign that would put us on to our next favourite MC/group. That’s what we’re trying to achieve here in a sense.
Apart from that, the film clip is a statement. Hip Hop has come so far in this country in the last 10-20 years thanks to pioneers like Def Wish Cast, Flak & Reason. The community’s taken Hip Hop from tiny back rooms crammed with only a handful of dedicated B-Boys and B-Girls to packed stadiums.
Hip Hop, we came and we conquered.
We need to point out that this is by no means a representation of every relevant artist involved in the culture past or present. It’s more a cross-section of who we have contact with, who was available and so on.
We humbly thank all of the artists involved and of course all of the people behind the scenes who made this massive project possible, most importantly Selina Miles and ADFU of Unity Sound & Visual.
Special thanks to Michelle Hunder, Tay Kaka, Alex Austin, Callie Marshall, Luiz Flavio, Trevor Francis, all the staff at Derringer’s, Andy Stankovich, Joshua Menzel, Tues, Reals and the Ironlak crew for all your help.-Hilltop Hoods.
