Brisbane Artist: Matt Stewart

Matt Stewart is a Brisbane based artist and another happy Crush City customer.

Lucky enough to make a good living out of what many of us love, he paints anything from comission canvas pieces, right through to corporate murals and a whole heap in between. His designs have been featured on bespoke shoes and high-end fashion labels as well as designer wallpaper companies.

While not having a street art background, Matt takes pride in telling many that it definately has a large impact and influence on his style of artwork. His distinct style, which has a street and pop art edge, sees him use various mediums to establish texture, density and dimension. He uses the Ironlak range of aersols to create his pieces, either layering it on carefully to create shadowing or super thick to give the artwork a blast of colour! His works are sexy, raw, run & attention demanding!

After just coming off a very successful solo exhibition in Brisbane in August, Matt already is pursuing offers from multi-national brands to work on corporate murals for them both locally and abroad, as well as keep up with the ongoing demand for his canvas pieces.

You can see more of Matts’ artwork and keep up to date with what he is currently working on via his website: http://www.mattstewart.tv

Political dissidents...

Greenpeace Brisbane activist team coordinator sent us some flicks of how they put our wares to work. Buck the system.

ANZ have taken out Greenpeace's award for being Australia's dirtiest bank. Despite their 'sustainable' rhetoric, ANZ are fuelling climate change by pumping billions of dollars into the coal industry.

Greenpeace is calling on ANZ to put its money where its mouth is by making a commitment to stop financing new coal-fired power stations. Instead they should shift their investments to clean, renewable energy. It's our money. It's our future.
